On Monday, in the Premier League, Leicester City beat Nottingham Forest by a spectacular 4-0 and made them shocked. After this win, Leicester left Nottingham behind in the table and piled the pressure on Steve Cooper.
In the Leicester win over Nottingham, James Maddison scored two goals, while Harvey Barnes and Patson Daka scored one goal each. In the first half, Leicester scored three goals, first in the 25th minute by James, second in the 27th minute by Harvey, and third in the 35th minute again by James.
While Nottingham was losing the match, their fans offered Cooper their unadulterated support, loudly singing his name with 20 minutes to go, which felt significant.
However, both teams, Leicester and Nottingham, are in the relegation state in the bottom two of the table in the Premier League.
Both teams’ managers were not masking the magnitude of the occasion, as Leicester’s manager Brendan Rodgers acknowledged the heat was on but insisted his team players would thrive in what proved an electric atmosphere.
Leicester had already scored three in the first 35 minutes, and at that point, Forest players tried to fight back and lead the display, but they could not.
Forest could take the lead at 22 minutes when Taiwo Awoniyi clipped a post after being freed through on goal by Morgan Gibbs-White, but they could not. After this, Jesse Lingard’s poor clearance gave him a chance for Maddison to score, but Scott McKenna deflected it. Two minutes later, Maddison made the pitch his playground and scored the first goal for Leicester.
After the break, Danny Ward’s hesitation almost handed Forest a route back into the game, Taiwo released the ball, but it could not cross Danny’s line. Danny confronted the Nottingham striker and failed them to score a single goal.
